OFUKU means luck
“OFUKU” is named after Ame-No-Uzume.
In the age of gods,
Ame-No-Uzume, the goddess of dawn and revelry,
restored light to the earth
through opening the heavenly stone cave.
OFUKU always makes people laugh, clowning around.
Helping others first, OFUKU makes fun of herself to provoke laughter.
Her mother died in the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657, leaving her last words,
“You must survive, and we can meet again for sure.”
OFUKU has been living for 400 years, believing she should be reunited with her mother.
OFUKU is always saying, “Live life to the fullest, and anything you wish will happen.”
Living way too long, OFUKU can read minds at a glance.
Aggressively forming a friendship, OFUKU makes her friends laugh.
OFUKU has been living to meet her mother again.
OFUKU has been living an eternal life.
OFUKU has been living an immortal life.
Nobody is more tragic than OFUKU,
being alone far out in the deep sea.
OFUKU practices the Buddhist conviction, “One cannot benefit oneself without benefiting others, and one cannot benefit others without benefiting oneself.”
